John Folsom was born in Paducah, Kentucky and
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema
and Photography from Southern Illinois
University. His work deals primarily with
different theories about how images of landscape
are used or fictionalized to create a personal
sense of place. Folsom’s photographic paintings
have been widely exhibited for the past 10 years
and can be found in many collections worldwide.
